PORTRAITS
Kate spent 5 years of her life in-and-out of hospitals. In order to keep herself mentally occupied during that time, she studied the light on objects she could see. Her eye for realism was developed through that practice, which enables her ability to paint portraits. After years of observing what placement and values of light composed different images, she simply sat down and started painting portraits. Kate started with painting cats and quickly branched out to other animals and people. Her passion for painting portraits is driven by learning to focus on light.
